Diarrhoea is a common problem for dogs and can be caused by dietary changes, stress, or eating something they shouldn’t. Diomec Plus is a nutritional aid that helps normalise the digestive system and manage both acute and chronic diarrhoea in dogs. It also helps support gut health, firm loose stools, and reduce the risk of dehydration.
How Diomec Plus Works
Diomec Plus contains a blend of ingredients that support digestive health:
- Diosmectite: Binds harmful bacteria, viruses, toxins, and excess water in the digestive tract to help firm stools and protect the intestinal lining.
- MOS (Mannan-oligosaccharides): A prebiotic that supports beneficial gut bacteria and helps reduce harmful E. coli.
- L-Glutamine: Helps nourish and repair the intestinal lining.
- Electrolytes and Dextrose: Replaces lost salts, provides energy, and helps combat dehydration.
How to Use Diomec Plus
Diomec Plus is available as a calibrated oral paste for dogs and cats. The dosage is based on your pet’s weight and is typically given twice daily for three days, or as directed by your veterinarian. Always ensure your dog has access to plenty of fresh, clean drinking water during treatment.
When Luca, my German Shorthaired Pointer, developed acute diarrhoea, our veterinarian recommended using Diomec Plus alongside a course of antibiotics. We continued treatment until his stools became firm again.
Since then, I’ve kept a tube in my dog’s medicine cupboard for mild digestive upsets that don’t appear severe. I like having it on hand because it combines digestive support, prebiotics, and electrolytes in one product, making it a convenient alternative to giving probiotics and electrolytes separately.
Important Safety Information
Diomec Plus is ideal for mild digestive upsets but should never replace veterinary care. If your dog’s diarrhoea lasts longer than 48 hours, contains blood, or is accompanied by vomiting, lethargy, or loss of appetite, contact your veterinarian immediately.
Puppies, senior dogs, and dogs showing signs of dehydration should always be examined by a vet. Do not use Diomec Plus for more than 10 consecutive days unless advised by your veterinarian.
